Jesus, Teach Me to Love

Lord, it’s hard to love sometimes,
When hearts are cold, when words aren’t kind.
But You have called me to forgive,
To show the love You freely give.

When I’m hurt and want to run,
Teach me grace like You have done.
Let my heart reflect Your light,
Turning anger into right.

Jesus, teach me how to love,
Like You do from up above.
With grace, with mercy, make me see,
The way that You have loved me.

Help me hold my tongue in peace,
Let my bitterness release.
Give me strength to turn away,
From holding grudges day by day.

Not by power, not by might,
But through Your Spirit, love shines bright.
Break my pride, help me be free,
To love the way You first loved me.

Jesus, teach me how to love,
Like You do from up above.
With grace, with mercy, make me see,
The way that You have loved me.

Oh, let my heart be soft again,
To love the ones I can’t befriend.
With Your kindness, lead the way,
Let me love like You each day.

Jesus, teach me how to love,
Like You do from up above.
With grace, with mercy, make me see,
The way that You have loved me.
